Lucy completed her first class honors degree in psychology, her masters degree with distinction in psychology, and a post graduate diploma in clinical psychology at the University of Canterbury. She is:

  • a Registered Clinical Psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board,

  • a full member of the New Zealand Psychological Society (NZPsS),

  • an associate member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP),

  • a registered provider for Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) sensitive claims,

  • and an associate member of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing New Zealand (EMDRNZ).

Through Clarity Psychological Services Lucy enjoys working with clients from diverse backgrounds and with varying psychological needs. Lucy works in a trauma informed, warm and patient manner. She provides personalised psychological therapy derived from a broad range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) modalities and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) . This means that she is able to tailor her approach to suit each client she works with. Lucy is also available to provide supervision to early career psychologists, allied health professionals and other professionals working in the health sector.

Lucy has experience working in private and public healthcare and criminal justice settings. She has also worked in the clinical research field by undertaking assessments and monitoring children who were engaged in treatment for ADHD, as part of the University of Canterbury’s Mental Health and Nutrition Research group. She has extensive experience in undertaking comprehensive clinical assessments and providing therapy on an individual and group basis. Her work has involved providing consultation to a variety of other professional groups, developing and providing training, and supervising clinical psychology students, registered intern psychologists, and other professionals. Alongside running Clarity Psychological Services she continues to work in the criminal justice field. This involves providing consultation to Community Probation Services, the New Zealand Parole Board and Prison Services. She works with clients under the care of the Department of Corrections, providing assessment and treatment, on both an individual and group basis.

Lucy was raised on the West Coast of New Zealand, where she enjoys visiting in her spare time. She loves to learn about other cultures and relishes in connecting with others in a meaningful way.
